Dan Josefsson: “I belonged to a loose left where it was obvious that Hanna Olsson was a hero”
The captivating narrative voice from the SVT documentaries is recognizable, though the words come faster. Dan speaks with engagement, and sometimes the intensity of his Halland accent rises noticeably. Especially when we discuss people whose thoughts and ideas he once shared, and whom he now disavows. Journalist Hanna Olsson is one of them. Her book ‘Catrin and Justice’ was a driving force behind the media frenzy that Dan himself joined. But his perspective would change along the way. He went from believer to doubter in the da Costa case and concluded his search with the SVT documentary ‘The Swedish Dismemberment Murder‘.
The documentary provided a new truth, but it still gnaws at Dan Josefsson. The work is not over, there is still a story waiting to be told.
